Modern day miracle

Marc has worn contacts since he was in Jr. High, but while he was on his mission he had to say goodbye to contacts and hello to glasses. A dormant allergy was triggered in his eye while he was serving in one of his areas, and he was unable to wear contacts from that time forward without severe irritation and pain. Although I think he is so cute in his glasses, he HATES them and has been talking about Lasik eye surgery for over two years now. Well we finally did it!!! The surgery itself was AWESOME. They opened all the blinds in the operating room so that I could watch the whole thing, and it was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. They literally cut off the cornea with a tiny blade, and then shoot hundreds of little lasers into the eye. From the time I said goodbye to Marc as he went into the operating room to the time he walked out and sat next to me was about 8 minutes. He could instantly tell a difference in his eyesight, and now he absolutely loves his new 20/20 vision. I am just totally amazed at the technology we have these days and I am so glad that we decided to get the surgery….except that it is Marc’s Christmas present…and his next years Christmas present…and the year after that too:)
